The Pauline Epistles: A Polyglot (Hardback)
EditedBy Timothy A. LeeA polyglot Bible is a single edition of Scripture that prints multiple ancient textual traditions side-by-side on the same page or facing pages, so that scholars can directly compare how different traditions render the same verses. It is both a scholarly and teaching tool designed to expose textual variants, illuminate interpretive differences, and make the structure of the biblical text visible across languages in a way no single-language edition can achieve.
This is a new polyglot for the Pauline Epistles. It aligns across versions at a verse level, even when the chapters and verses numbering varies across traditions. It is designed as a tool for teaching textual criticism to students and for scholars and interested non-specialists wanting to browse differences and study the diverse textual traditions of the Bible.
This polyglot aligns:
- The Syriac Peshitta (British and Foreign Bible Society 1905 edition)
- The SBL Greek New Testament (SBLGNT)
- The Oxford Vulgate (editio minor, 1911) with added macrons
- The World English Bible (WEB)
